Being Cyrus:
Its a physic, offbeat kind of hilarious, suspense movie which is totally based on the acting talents of the best star cast in the industry. The best part is the dialogues which is what holds your interest till the end. The Camera work is very much inspired by the Matrix style of making, where the characters are lost in a flash back and are suddenly woken up into the real world.
The direction at times is sloppy...the story telling tends to forget about other characters when concentrating on one. There are no "censors" on the inhibitions, be it in dialog or the story telling which brings the movie more close to reality, so be prepared to hear some not much heard dialogs and words on the screen.
The story is about two couples, an old man, a cop and CYRUS.
The character of Cyrus Mistry played by Saif Ali Khan enters the isolated lifes of Sethna couple, Dinshaw Senthna played by Naseeruddin Shah and Katy Sethna played by Dimple Kapadia. Katy tricks Cyrus into getting rid of her father in law Fardoonjee Sethna who owns a bungalow in Mumbai and also Dinshaw's brother Farok Sethna played by Boman Irani and his wife Tina Sethna played by Simone Singh. But her true intentions are something else, she wants to get rid of Tina and have Farok. Cyrus realizes this and changes the entire plot by planting all evidences against Katy and Dinshaw. The twist comes when its reveled that Tina is Cyrus' sister and both had planned the whole plot to get the money and bungalow of the Sethnas. In the end Cyrus even tricks his own sister and absconds.
Dimple still has the fire at this age. Naseeruddin Shah is at his best. Boman Irani is totally in a different role and has done expertly well. A scene at the end where the cop says "all Parsis look alike.." Nasseruddin shah just nods and the expression on his face says all. You can just feel what a genius actor he is. It a unique movie but only for the multiplex audience.
