5 Point someone & my perception of IIT

Image
I never had been in a hostel before, so my perception of a hostel life after reading this novel has not changed much...its pretty much the same as I had observed in my collage hostel from out side. But this in fact has changed my perception about the IIT institute. First I used to think it was a place where there is no fun or excitement as all the students studying there are book worms. This perception of mine was changed to some extent when I was working for Veritas, Pune where I was surrounded by all IIT graduates. Well coming to the novel, its really funny at parts and is too filmy at parts. Like the incident where they go to steal the question paper and how they get caught after making a call from the HOD office, either there are some dum people at IIT too or IIT people are not good at anything other than mugging. The story of how Hari makes use of Neha sucks big time...and the heights is she comes back to him, even after all that he did to her. No self respecting person would do t...

Rip that iPod - YamiPod

Image
There must be other ways of doing this but this is the first good one I found. The problem with iPod is that when you upload the songs from iTunes and say want to make a copy of the songs on your laptop, its difficult. The DRM concept of Apple comes to ruin the fun. There is a way to copy the songs from iPod to a computer or the other way around with out using iTunes. Its called YamiPod Click here to download

Its over...

Just Stumbled upon... Check this Link... Just proves that you are not alone...:)

Read lyrics while listening to songs !!!

Would it not be very exacting to have the lyric of the song (spl English) being played directly downloaded from the net and display in sysc with the song? MiniLyrics does exactly the same. When you are listening to songs on your favorite player, the MiniLyrics downloads the lyrics of the song and displays in sync with the songs played. Its really cool and is hassle free. It has no ads or banners and moreover it works with most of the popular music players. It starts automatically with the player, supports skins of almost all media players so it blends with the player. Worth a try. You can download it from here... MiniLyrics

Dumb... Dumb...

Image
I am talking about the new Tata Indigo ad... For those who have not seen it ...it goes something like this... A set of four girls traveling in a Tata Indigo (which I prefer to call a truck...) see a hot hunk along the way and asks him... "Have you seen a hotty, who can be a naughty and who can rub some sun tan..." the guy cleverly asks them to try out the beach cafe. Then the background sounds goes ... "Dumb...Dumb..." What the hell do this media people think of the guys....according to me, what the guy does in the ad is perfectly cleaver. That is the way "flirty...and silly" girls like those should be treated/ignored. The "dumb dumb" tag must be on those four girls in that ad how think they can flirt around with any guy and get away with it...:D

How risky is not taking risks?

There are two ways of leading our life. One way is to assume everything will be perfect and try to be what you want to be, be what you can be. The other way is to consider the worst case scenario and take maximum caution in not being adventurous. Make maximum effort in securing what you have and make sure things work out no matter what. Being cautious and not taking any risk will for sure make life secure and make sure you have a future, but you will loose out on all the good things you could have had and you could have lived life to the full. On the other hand assuming everything will be perfect may throw up some surprises once in a while and dampen your growth a bit, but you would have lived life to the full. After all you have but one life...

Vampires

Image
Original Link Quote: Instead of consuming of ill-gotten hemoglobin, these vampires suck the very life and energy out of people. By nature they feed on generous individuals who tend towards helping others, and leave their victims exhausted, bitter and dispirited. They're not evil creatures, Vampires. They act only on their blind instinct to feed, driven by base urges like most living things. Often even they themselves are not aware of their Vampire status, so leave your stakes at home. UnQuote:

Being Cyrus:

Image
Its a physic, offbeat kind of hilarious, suspense movie which is totally based on the acting talents of the best star cast in the industry. The best part is the dialogues which is what holds your interest till the end. The Camera work is very much inspired by the Matrix style of making, where the characters are lost in a flash back and are suddenly woken up into the real world. The direction at times is sloppy...the story telling tends to forget about other characters when concentrating on one. There are no "censors" on the inhibitions, be it in dialog or the story telling which brings the movie more close to reality, so be prepared to hear some not much heard dialogs and words on the screen. The story is about two couples, an old man, a cop and CYRUS. The character of Cyrus Mistry played by Saif Ali Khan enters the isolated lifes of Sethna couple, Dinshaw Senthna played by Naseeruddin Shah and Katy Sethna played by Dimple Kapadia. Katy tricks Cyrus into getting rid of her f...

Generation NeXT

Image
The pace at which the things are changing for the newer generations is just amazing... Had been silently watching a bunch of collage going chaps and was trying to compare our times when we were in collage. Some parallels... We had internet provided in the collage which later spread to a couple of cyber cafes and then to our rooms at home. I remember once the next day's exams were postponed and we got the news from some hostilities in our chat rooms late in the night. We all decided to celebrate and decided to meet near the collage..everything decided over the chat...was considered the most hi-tech thing to do...In the present day...such messages are spread via SMSs...chat rooms are a thing of the past. We had queues in front of copiers for the notes just before the exams. Now soft copies of PDFs are exchanged over the emails, which are obviously mailed in yahoo groups. We all were thrilled when we started getting CDs along with "chip" and "PC quest" mags. The CD...
