This is about a guy, a very dear friend of mine, whom I have lost to the wonderful social system we have. My friend is a very [vivacious] guy, the happiest person I have ever known, confident and courageous. Rather, he was -- till he got married. He works for one of the best companies in India. He is good at what he does. He has a wonderful career ahead of him. But he is not happy. The only time he is not depressed is when he is in his office. He dreads his wife's doubting character and a complaining nature. He would rather not go home. But, at the end of the day, he has to. He was married three years ago. Born in a cultured family, he grew up imbibing traditional values about family life. Among those, the 'responsibilities' of a son and a husband. He even gave up the girl he loved for the traditional values and for the for the honor of the family. Every morning, he wakes up at 6. Well friendship day was here. Its a good time to make new friends and wish them on this day. Its a much better time to sit back and retrospect about how many friends have we retained in the past year and how many friends have we lost because of our so called busy schedules. There are friends who would not have replied, yet there are many more to whom we have not replied for a long time. It hurts when someone who was once so close stops responding, hurts even more when you hear from them, but just you are one of the CC'ed or BCC'ed list. Yet we fail to realize that there might be others who might be just waiting to hear from you too. I guess we can retaining friends not by waiting for someone who is not responding to us, but in responding to someone who is waiting for us. Happy Friendship Day !!!

Life is a game, a game of musical chairs. The music played by destiny stops exactly when everything looks settled and we were starting to enjoying what was going on around us. Once the music stops, We start to panic and hurry up for grabbing the available chairs. Sometimes we get into the same group, but with different faces. Sometimes we don't get the desired "chair" and end up being a part of some other group. The roles remain the same in the group, just the people playing those roles differ. Sometime you play the central role in the group, dictating and planning what the group should do. Sometimes someone else takes over the group and you end up following what others say, just facilitating the group activities. Sometimes you get fed up with the group and want to break away. Only thing you can do is wait for the music to stop and life to take another turn. Ooty Trip Snaps This was one of those “ Shall we go, are we going, when are we going…ok lets go ” kind of trip. Finally I had long yarned break I was looking for. Even after deciding the destination, timing, after googling for all the information required and all set to go…There were some initial “ shall we drop it…ok... Some how we will adjust…no matter what we will make it ”. Initially we were planning to make an early start at around 2:30 PM, so that we can reach Ooty by just before dinner, got delayed till 6:00 PM. In the mean time we collected some snacks for the journey, filled up the tank started for the trip. We were four of us, Knew Amit for quite sometime, had met Sa-Neha pretty recently and Su-Cherry on the same day. But there were no ice breakers necessary (which are very much required for some one like me) thanks to the sense of humor of Amit and the sweet nature of both Sa-Neha and Su-Cherry. While talking to a good friend of mine, on why women normally tend to stack up expensive things and never use them...I was enlightened that once they get a compliment for a particular thing or a dress...they feel that they will never get any more compliments for that particular thing so they never use it ever again.   hey girls...thumere basic mein he loocha hai...we guys never ever concentrate on what a girl is wearing. Ok. Accepted guys don't have a photographic memory like gals...we don't remember what some one was wearing on a Thursday last week. A compliment is a compliment...and is never for the dress you are wearing...we give more importance to the inner person and not to how they appear from outside..hehehhe...   So if you see a girl wearing the same dress again and again, she is waiting for a compliment for that dress.
