Wake up Sid...

Image
Watched a movie in a theater after a long long time... I kinda like such movies... everything was good about it. The only thing that this movie lacks is the depth. It was a nice story with nice star cast but somewhere down the line, the director/writer missed to fill in the gaps. At the end you start missing something in the movie and you tend to get lost somewhere. Ranbir is here to stay... he is a versatile actor without much baggage. Not like his sisters (kareena and Karishma) whom i equally love not to see them on screen or in media. Konkana is at her best as usual. The story was very much predictable and does not take you by surprise at all. The movie could have been much more intresting if the other characters would have been given more life. For example Ranbir's friend who breaks up, is completely without any effect. The feelings of Ranbir's friend Tanya for him is a sporadic event. Can be watched once... on DVD

The Lucknow Trip - of Chiken Cloths and search for Tunday Kabbi

Image
Had been to Lucknow for some office related work for a week. Before starting from here, had asked couple of friends about some "must dos" in Lucknow. Two names popped up every time, Chikan sarees and chichkan kabab @ " Tunde Kababi " Lucknow is a amalgamation of old city charms and the urban "shopping mall" charms. We stayed at La Place Park Inn which is a three star hotel. But was not satisfied with the services. The very first day we ventured out to have a look around the city. Hired a Cycle rick which are the most convenient way of transport in Lucknow. He took us directly to SEWA shopping center which is a famous chikan work goods. Was planning to buy 2 sarees but ended up buying nine. Later when discussing with the locals got conflicting opinions about where to buy original yet reasonable chikan work cloths. Some suggested us to buy at chowk, others cautioned us that the quality at chowk is not guaranteed. Others told us that SEWA guaranties the qua...

I am without a JOB !!!

YES... I don't have a job :) I have just resigned from my previous company and joining a new company this Monday. It's kind of nice feeling for sometime not to be thinking about what to do in office tomorrow. Had been on a weekend trip spree for the past almost three months. Have been travelling out of Bangalore each and every weekend for the past three months. Gulbarga, Shimoga, Chennai, Pune, Shirdi, Tirupathi.... WoW never traveled so much before. Haven't seen any movies in the recent past. Yeh, New york and X-Man - Origins. Liked New York, but X-Man disappointed me, being a X-Man fan had a lot of exceptions. Hey...Wait... just realized that times have changed and such updates are better done on facebook... hm, well let me keep such things to face book and more serious elaborate articles on my blog...

Jail breaking the iPod Touch

I always am amused with the various jail break / hacks articles that float around the net. But was always scared to do anything with my iPod. I downloaded some applications from torrents and was trying to install them on my iPod. It started throwing up all sorts of "not verified" "can not install" errors. To solve these errors i realized that i need to "jail break" my iPod. The following link helped me in doing all that. Now enjoying playing around with my hacked iPod Touch.

I have voted...did you?

I voted for the first time today. All these years my name was never included in the voter's list. First couple of years, i had no permanent address. Then for couple of years i could not get my name added to the list. Then for two years my name was no in the list even though i registered. This time... i got my voter id made. I guess that made the difference. And it was quite an experience. The one other thing that made a difference was the " jaago re " initiative. It really made people think... and my vote went to... well that will remain with me :)

Why the world order is going to change in the next 10 years

One of the most significant reason for the turmoil in the world is because of the concentration of the wealth with two of the most unreliable groups in the world. The money is flowing into the economies of the Arab countries from all over the world is funding the terror activities all over the world, which in-turn is funding the arms market of the west. The west in-turn is using the money coming in, in creating more unrest in the world and there by increasing the market for their arms. But with the oil wells drying out and the Arab world senselessly investing into real estate, the funding for the terror is going to take a sharp dip. After oil completely dries up, money is expected to be generated out the the real estates. But the real estate is going to burst in middle east as the environment is hostile but naturally and politically. After the hype and money dries up, it will be back to what it really is... a desert. Money will stop flowing into the west as there will no funding for th...

Wayanad Trip

Image
27-12:5:30PM We started towards Wayanad after visiting the Irpu Waterfalls. We were booked in Green Gates Hotel at Kalpetta, Wayanad. The least said the best. Don't be fooled by the snaps on their websites. The rooms stink, the bathroom are of 80's standards, the room service need three reminders to get anything. Not a good start for Wayanad. 28-12:9:30AM The next day was a special day, our first marriage anniversary. We decided to spend the day together in some isolated place. Kuruva island was the prefect place. The Kuruva island, 950 acres of ever green forest on the tributaries of east flowing river Kabani, is an ideal picnic spot, far away from the disturbances of city life. Here we walked in the forest, crossing the rivers. Here you can hire a guide who will help you in crossing the rivers safely. But you can go on your own too. You can spend the whole day in the forest. There are tree houses in the forest where you can spend the night surrounded by nature. There are othe...

Coorg Trip - The Scotland of India

Image
After planning for a long long time, finally decided to go to Coorg and Wayanad for our first marriage anniversary. Searching through the travel logs and travel blogs gave us some idea of what was there in store for us. Thankful to Sahas for giving me the complete details of the trip. 24-12:6:30AM Started from Bangalore, took the new NICE ring road till Mysore road. After having a quick breakfast at the new Kamat uphar headed towards Srirangapatna. Took the Mysore bypass towards Hunsur. Drove from Virajpet to Gonikoppal to kakabbe. The road from Gonikoppal to kakabbe was single lane and full of potholes. 24-12:11:30AM We were booked at Misty Woods Resort. It is in such a beautiful surroundings that once you reach the resort, it takes away all the strain of the travel. They have only 12 cottages and not much of crowd. The food is also delicious, but you will have to inform them of your preferences before hand. We spent the day in the resort and later visited the Kakkabe palace and the p...
