Back to Linux...

...and what a relief... Stumbled upon Ubuntu at slashdot discussions. The comments were pretty interesting which provoked me to poke my nose into the developments in Linux... visited the ununtu site only to find some release candiate. It was also blocked since the full version was due on next day. So decided to wait for another day to download. The next day had to wait till late evening to see the full version online. Then downloaded the .iso file and decided to install it on VMWare since messing around with my office system would be a disaster. The wait was worth it... the installation process asked me a zillion less questions than my first attempt at installing RH4.1. The desktop was very much impressive and stable. Internet started working by itself. This was the biggest bottle neck in using Linux. Rest all worked with equal ease. The mail, CD writer software...everything... Even blogging this article from Ubuntu desktop... it simply simple...

Gmail and Google Earth on my Cell Phone.

Recently Airtel activated GPRS on my cell phone by default. I first planned to disable it thinking that it was a marketing stunt to earn more revenue. But before that i planned to check what new things that are developed since i last used GPRS on my cell. So the first thing i checked was of course Google Mobile Mail which was introduced just after i had stopped using GPRS last time. It was smooth, sleek and sophisticated as expected from google. Ok done now what? Just happened to stumble upon the google earth website. To my surprise they had a java based application to download. Ok cool, downloaded and installed. When i started browsing it as as smooth as actually moving around in reality. It really rocks !!! They also have Google Mobile Search , Google Mobile News and Google Mobile Calendar . Calender was interesting but i don't use it much. I need to find a migration tool which can migrate my yahoo calender to google calender. Checked out Yahoo Mobile also, but its all PAI...

Its happening again...

Its happening again... I am forced to letting it go... I know its not going to come back... I know it was my last chance... ... i have tried, hard, hard enough. ... i tried holding onto it. ... it flowed out of my hand like sand... My hands are empty, feels like lost i have it. lost everything... Hope its only a bad dream... Hope i wake up, gasping for breath... Hope it all ends there... ...but was that not what i had thought before... ...was i not waiting for a dream to end... ...its happening again... ...its happening again...

Transition period...

What's to be Done with Sathe?

Image
Last Sunday saw a play Ranga Shankara. This time it was a play presented by Chennai's Theatre Nisha "What's to be Done with Sathe" directed by V Balakrishnan who is an alumnus of National School of Drama (NSD) Written by Rajeev Naik. I guess i have spoilt myself by seeing the best of theater and plays of Girish Karnard, Rajat Kapoor and likes. I had set very high expectations with this play. The previous two plays seen were monologues, this play had two characters, a husband,an ad film maker and a wife, a collage professor in English. The execution was very smooth, had around ten scenes. Each starting with either of them entering the stage and ending with an argument over one thing or the other. In between waining about this guy named Sathe, who is also a film maker who is quite successful. There is not much of a story in this play nor the twists and turns. It starts with nowhere and ends in nowhere. Nice flow and good performances.

Bhool Ja...

I am trying to make you mine, but you are already someone else's... I am trying to convince you, but you are not listening anymore... I am trying to tell, you are going away, but you don't care anymore... I am trying to explain, but don't have time for me... I am trying to find you, you are never there... I am trying to make you happy, but you are not worried... I am trying to hold you back, but i know i can't... I love you, but i know you don't, anymore... Singing out, slowly... n ansoonon se kisko kya hua hansil Mana kehna hai asan nibhana hai mushkil Phir bhi ae yaar mere Sunle meri intezaaa Wo to nahin tha teri wafon ke kabhil Jane kya soch kar tune de diya apna dil Is baar dil ka sauda karna na yun bewajhah Teri zindagi teri hai kisi ki amant nahin Jab chahe tod de aese ek imart nahin Bhool ja Jo hua use bhool ja hai kasam tujhe muskura khud ko na de yun saza un yadon ko bhool ja
