What's to be Done with Sathe?

Image
Last Sunday saw a play Ranga Shankara. This time it was a play presented by Chennai's Theatre Nisha "What's to be Done with Sathe" directed by V Balakrishnan who is an alumnus of National School of Drama (NSD) Written by Rajeev Naik. I guess i have spoilt myself by seeing the best of theater and plays of Girish Karnard, Rajat Kapoor and likes. I had set very high expectations with this play. The previous two plays seen were monologues, this play had two characters, a husband,an ad film maker and a wife, a collage professor in English. The execution was very smooth, had around ten scenes. Each starting with either of them entering the stage and ending with an argument over one thing or the other. In between waining about this guy named Sathe, who is also a film maker who is quite successful. There is not much of a story in this play nor the twists and turns. It starts with nowhere and ends in nowhere. Nice flow and good performances.

Bhool Ja...

I am trying to make you mine, but you are already someone else's... I am trying to convince you, but you are not listening anymore... I am trying to tell, you are going away, but you don't care anymore... I am trying to explain, but don't have time for me... I am trying to find you, you are never there... I am trying to make you happy, but you are not worried... I am trying to hold you back, but i know i can't... I love you, but i know you don't, anymore... Singing out, slowly... n ansoonon se kisko kya hua hansil Mana kehna hai asan nibhana hai mushkil Phir bhi ae yaar mere Sunle meri intezaaa Wo to nahin tha teri wafon ke kabhil Jane kya soch kar tune de diya apna dil Is baar dil ka sauda karna na yun bewajhah Teri zindagi teri hai kisi ki amant nahin Jab chahe tod de aese ek imart nahin Bhool ja Jo hua use bhool ja hai kasam tujhe muskura khud ko na de yun saza un yadon ko bhool ja

Is the end near?

With so much of news of intolerance towards other faith and religion around the world, people killing other people because they are killing their people... where is this going to end? Some claim that their religion is the ONLY true religion, their GOD the only GOD, rest all religions are nothing but non-religions, other GODs are false GODs. Talking to a friend? of mine the other day, he claims his is the only true religion and all other ways of worshiping and beliefs are nothing but non believers of GOD. Their minds are so corrupted that they have shut their minds to the logical thinking and are lost in nowhere. Their argument is that they are not being treated correctly all over the world and that they are innocent and are getting killed all over the world. "Innocent" my foot, they claim all the non believers (read on followers of their religion) to be infidels and should be destroyed. But in return they expect a fair treatment. Its like claiming humanitarian rights for a se...

The delicate balance

There is such a delicate balance maintained in our day to day activities. We believe everything has become a routine. Everything appears to be going on smoothly, but we forget that what we have actually done is that we have created a safe fort with small arrangements or adjustments with our environment. We would have become dependent on some people or things around us, which we believe will be there with us for ever. We take their presence for granted. But priorities change. You no more are a priority for someone. You are no more important. You realize, the things around you were dependent on that thing or the person. All your routines go for a toss. A trip so perfectly planned which appeared so real, suddenly disappears like a image in the mist. You realize it was just a illusion that you were living in... ... you realize... its time to move on... Start it all over again...
